Can't find variable for "home_path"

by Frank Wagoner, December 16, 2003 11:33

Is there any set variable in ODBIC for the home directory path? I know there are variables for path_info, path_info_dir, path_translated, and path_translated_dir. However, the path_info_dir variable changes as a page is loaded in a subfolder off the root directory.

For example, let's say I have a index.html documentation on the root of my web server and I'm running the odbic utility to run a template at the following location (example):

http://www.website.com/information/page1.odb

I need a system-defined variable (or another method if you know of one) that will always tell me the home path on the site. Then I could specify something like the following in the page1.odb file used in the example above:

img src="$home_dir$/images/title.gif"

.. which would result in "http://www.website.com/images/title.gif" and would be what I'm looking for. The only way I can currently get this to work is to hard-code the image source, which causes problems for me when running the site on a temporary web server for testing.

I appreciate anyone's assistance in helping me figure out an option I can use or pointing me in the right direction.

Thanks! Frank :)
