Firefox DocType CSS Problem
by Leonard Harris, December 2, 2008 05:05 I have pages that contain a full two-line transitional DocType. (I tried including the DocType here, but the discussion board anti-spam didn't like it since it contains a link.)
If these pages are rendered w/ Firefox after being processed by ODBscript, all linked CSS styles are ignored.
For pages not processed by ODBscript, linked CSS styles are processed properly. I've seen this only w/ Firefox, not w/ any other major browsers. Also, if the page contains only a partial DocType:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">
the linked CSS styles are handled properly.
An initial investigation suggests that this can occur if the server is not serving css with a Mime type of text/css. It appears that perhaps after processing by ODBscript, this Mime type is being lost -- just speculation.
This is occurring on one of my older applications and could possibly be associated with an old version of ODBscript. (As an aside, is there a good way to determine ODBscript versions?)
Any ideas?
